In Pakistan, you are asked to become either a doctor or an engineer and many students try hard to get admission in MBBS, but, in words of our society only “Worthy enough”, “lucky enough”, and “deserving” can get admission in MBBS. Does anybody ever told you that there are few other “Doctor” named degrees which could also promise you same prestige, same level of money but only if you truly accept your field and work as hard as you would have worked if you have gotten admission in MBBS.

“Danger Doctor” is the word which comes in most of people’s mind when they hear the word DVM. First let me tell you about its scope then we will talk about this “Danger Doctor” title.

Institutions offering DVM degree in Pakistan:

1. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
2. Gomal University, D.I Khan.
3. University of Agriculture, Faisalabad

Scope of DVM in Pakistan:

Livestock sector is rapidly growing in Pakistan. Our country’s economy largely depends upon agriculture and livestock sector contributes about 56.3% in agriculture and it is continuously growing as needs of people are growing day by day. How can a person think that DVM got no scope in Pakistan when livestock sector has so much contribution in Pakistan’s economy?

Like all other degrees, DVM also has its pros and cons, and in my view, all discussions about scope of any degree ends at “if you are interested and satisfied about the degree?”. Believe me every degree has scope equal to MBBS if you put enough effort in it. Talking about DVM, there are government inductions of Veterinary Doctors as VO’s (Veterinary Officers). Many other government institutions such as VRI, Punjab Food Authority etc. also have Veterinary doctors.

Almost all private and government dairy farms also have Veterinary doctors hired. Poultry farms also pay a high amount to Veterinary doctors. Institutions offering DVM also hire UG’s, PG’s as lecturers and there is a bright scope in teaching.

 The “Danger Doctor” title:

Now let’s talk about the one thing which stops many students from getting admission in DVM, and that is the title of “Danger Doctor”. Believe me, you will not give a damn about what people call you once you come to DVM with full satisfaction. “Danger” word itself means “Animals” and when a person calls you with said title, he is in fact calling you “Doctor of Animals” which you are! If you get bothered by this word then you should seriously reconsider you decision , if you plan to get admission in DVM, because in the end ITS YOUR MENTAL SATISFACTION WHICH IS IMPORTANT!
